Overview: The Mood Disorder Questionnaire (MDQ) was developed by a team of psychologists to address the need for timely and accurate diagnosis of bipolar disorder. The MDQ is a brief, self-report screening instrument that can be used to identify patients most likely to have bipolar disorder. This instrument was designed for screening purposes only and is not to be used as the sole source of knowledge for diagnostic purposes.
