Assessments, Check-ins and Phone Sensor Data all exist to gather information about your Clients. They help measure Client outcomes and provide you with insights that you can use to inform, expand, and enhance your therapy sessions.

Let's review these three data collection methods!

Assessments

Assessments are clinical information-gathering tools (such as the PHQ-9, GAD-7) that are scored and designed to be completed by your Clients at regular intervals. They can be assigned to Clients and automatically delivered weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly.

These scales have been validated through research, are available in the public domain, and could include screeners, outcome measures, or process measures.

Assessments are billable by insurance and can be done in person, in a web browser, or in the Blueprint app.

  • are measures administered via Blueprint to improve their care.

  • Assessments are scored, clinically validated information-gathering tools designed to be completed by your Clients at regular intervals (weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly) to measure treatment progress.

Check-ins

Check-ins are a way for your Client to touch base with you by recording thoughts and/or feelings outside of official, scored Assessments, and usually done on a more frequent basis. They are often assigned as homework assignments and can keep Clients engaged in the process of therapy outside of session.

If you assign Check-ins, they will always be available to the Client and the Client select their own preferred frequency and notification settings to complete them.

Check-in types include Symptom Trackers, Worksheets and Lifestyle Correlates.

Check-ins are currently not billable by insurance (but guidelines evolve yearly) and must be completed within the Blueprint Client app.

  • are not scored and used as a self-report, completed on a more frequent basis (daily is common), and can be thought of as "homework" to help you understand more about their life outside of sessions. This helps to make the most of your time together in session. Clients can Check-in anytime from the Blueprint app.

Phone Sensor Data

Phone Sensor Data is automatically collected via the Client's phone using the Health app, Motion & Fitness, and Location, if enabled by the Client. This includes data about homestay, travel time, steps, distance.

Clients define their own permissions settings for Phone Sensor Data and can change them at any time. Connecting the Blueprint mobile app to phone sensor data is completely optional for Clients based on their comfort level and intended use.

Together, Check-ins and Phone Sensor Data provide insight into the Client's lifestyle and how it correlates with their symptoms and care over time.
