In this article we'll discuss what the Safety Net is, what triggers it to appear for clients, and more.

  • Safety Net triggers and actions are customizable on a clinic-wide level. Check with your clinic's Supervisor or Admin to learn more about your clinic's specific Safety Net settings.


What is a Safety Net?

A Safety Net is a list of mental health resources presented to a client if they respond positively to a suicidal ideation question on an Assessment.


What triggers a Safety Net?

Most commonly a Safety Net is triggered when a client answers anything other than "Not at all" on the 9th question of the PHQ-9 "Thoughts that you would be better off dead, or thoughts of hurting yourself in some way?"

Your clinic may have have custom Safety Net triggers and actions based on any question on any Assessment using Workflows.

What happens when a client triggers a Safety Net?

If the client submits an Assessment that triggered a Safety Net based on your clinic's Workflows:

For clients

  • A "Need Support?" modal is added to the client's Blueprint home screen in the mobile app and client website. It contains Safety Net Resources based on your clinic's Workflows:

  • Other actions may occur if configured in your clinic's Workflows such as the client being sent a Safety Net via email or text:

For clinicians

  • When a client has completed an Assessment their primary clinician will receive a Dashboard notification letting them know. If the client's profile has the High Risk toggle on (either triggered by a Workflow or manually turned on by a clinician), it will say so next to their name:

  • If enabled in your clinic's Workflow, the client's primary, non-primary, or another email address will receive an email notification:

  • On the client's profile in the clinician portal the High Risk flag is turned on:

  2. Q: Can I customize the Safety Net resources for my clinic?
    ​
    ​A: Yes, Users with Admin and Supervisor permissions can customize the Safety Net resources. To do so, click your name in the upper right corner of Blueprint and select Safety Net. This will update the Safety Net for your entire clinic.
