Using Blueprint with Telehealth Sessions
Using Blueprint with Telehealth Sessions

How to share your audio when using headphones during your Telehealth session with Blueprint.

Updated over a week ago

Using headphones during a telehealth session with Blueprint is now easier than ever! Blueprint supports the use of headphones whenever a clinician is seeing a client via telehealth in an internet browser, which includes:

  • SimplePractice

  • TherapyNotes

  • Theranest

  • Valant

  • Doxy.me

  • Talkspace

  • Betterhelp

  • And any/all other browser-based telehealth tools

Important Notes

  • Using headphones during a telehealth session? No problem! As long as:

    • You're using a computer! Blueprint won't work with telehealth sessions on mobile devices including an iPad or cell phone.

    • The telehealth session is happening within an internet browser. Blueprint cannot capture client's audio when using headphones with app-based programs such as Zoom, even on a computer. We are working on it! In the meantime, we recommend logging into Zoom in a web browser where you can share your browser's tab audio with Blueprint.

Sharing audio with Blueprint During a Telehealth Session

  1. From within a Blueprint Session click Start Recording

  2. Select your preferred microphone (what will be used to record you) and click Next

  3. Select Telehealth and click Next

  4. Indicate if you are using headphones or not for this Session

  5. If you select No headphones you're all set -- you can click Start recording whenever you're ready!

  6. If you select Using headphones then you'll be prompted to share your browser audio, which is where Blueprint will capture your client's voice. Click Share browser audio

Select the tab that your telehealth program is running in, make sure the "Also share tab audio" is turned on, and click Share

That's it! πŸŽ‰ Recording will begin automatically (you'll see the microphone icon light up in green as you speak) and Blueprint will include your audio and the client's when generating the progress note after you've ended your Session.

FAQ

  1. Q: Why do I need to share my browser's audio when using headphones?

A: Blueprint captures audio ambiently, meaning it listens to the audio coming out of your computer. When you're wearing headphones there is no sound (the client's voice) coming from your computer so you must give it access to record directly from within the browser tab itself.

  2. Q: I recorded my session but a note didn't generate.

A: Reach out to our support team! They'll be happy to investigate to see what went wrong with the recording.
