Updated over a week ago

Would you like more control and customization of how your Notes are generated? Set your preferences once and Blueprint will automatically apply them to all future Notes with Note Preferences!

In this article we'll review:

Before we begin

To access and utilize Note Preferences, Transcripts must be enabled for your clinic.

What are "Note Preferences"?

Note Preferences are a group of settings within Blueprint that enables you to set personalized guidelines for how you'd like your Notes generated.

Whether you prefer shorter or longer notes, have a preference on including client quotes, you can customize these settings and more for consistent Notes across all of your sessions.

Once set, these preferences apply automatically to all of your future notes, reducing the need for repetitive edits.

With Note Preferences, you can customize:

  • How Notes refer to you

  • How Notes refer to those you care for

  • The length of your Notes

  • The length of Medical Necessity

  • How to describe the client's Diagnostic Symptoms

  • The length of Action Items

  • The inclusion of Direct Quotes

  • Which sections of the Mini Mental Status Exam to include in the Note

How to adjust your Note Preferences

  1. Go to any Note you've previously generated

  2. At the top right of the Note, click Note Preferences

  3. Set your desired preferences for how your Notes are generated

  4. There's no need to click the "Generate new note" button (unless you'd like to regenerate the specific Note you're on), but make sure the Remember these settings for future notes box is checked

And that's it! πŸŽ‰ Blueprint will now remember and apply these preferences when generating your future Notes.

Other ways to customize your Notes

Aside from Note Preferences, you could also use Magic Edit to fine tune your Notes. Unlike Note Preferences, Magic Edit accepts regeneration instructions via free text and will only apply to the current Note you're on.

Notes are auto-generated using AI and should always be reviewed and, if needed, edited for accuracy before saving to the client’s record in your EHR.

FAQ

Do Note Preferences apply to everyone at my clinic, or just me?

Note Preferences are user level settings, so they will only apply to Notes that you generate. Every clinician can set their own Note Preferences.
