Important Notes

  • A Blueprint account is required for the steps in this article. To create an account, you must have received an invitation to sign up via email.

  • Workflows may differ; these steps are based on the most common workflows, use, and access to Blueprint. Check with your clinic's supervisor or admin with any questions about how your clinic specifically uses Blueprint.

1. Enroll yourself as a test Client πŸ€“

Enrolling yourself as a test Client is a fantastic way to learn how to enroll Clients and to get a glimpse into what the experience looks like from the Client's perspective.

πŸ“š Resources:

πŸ’‘ Bonus Tips:

- We recommend using your own personal email address and phone number on your test Client's profile, as well as name that clearly shows it's a test Client, such as "Amanda Demo".

2. Get familiar with your default Assessments πŸ“

Each clinic using Blueprint has a defined Assessment (or bundle of Assessments) that are assigned to Clients at enrollment by default.

When you enroll a new Client, you can choose to stick with the defaults, or choose different/additional Assessments based on the Client's needs.

πŸ“š Resources:

- To learn more about the Assessments available in Blueprint, check out our Assessment Library under the Resources tab!

πŸ’‘ Bonus Tips:

- Most clinics have the Blueprint Diagnostic Screener for Clients 13 years old and older and the Pediatric Symptom Checklist for Clients 12 years old and younger set as their default Assessments, but we recommend checking with your clinic's supervisor to confirm what is in place for your clinic specifically.

3. Begin enrolling your real Clients 🀩

A great way to do this in a manageable way is to enroll Clients on Blueprint as you see them in session. This gives space for you to talk to them about Blueprint, explaining to them that you’re using a new tool to help them track their progress.

πŸ“š Resources:

πŸ’‘ Bonus Tips:

- If Clients are slow to take their first Assessment, remind them to do so at their convenience by sending a reminder!

4. Set your Clients up for success ⭐️

When introducing Blueprint to your Client, we recommend you explain the difference between Assessments and Check-ins, as well as ask them to enable Check-in Notifications in the Blueprint mobile app.

  1. Explaining the difference between Assessments and Check-ins:

    • Both are measures administered via Blueprint to improve their care.

    • Assessments are scored, clinically validated measures completed at regular intervals (weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly) to measure treatment progress.

    • Check-ins are not scored and used more as a self-report completed on a more frequent basis (daily is common).

  2. Enable Check-in Notifications in the Blueprint mobile app:

Because Clients control their own Check-in Notifications (whereas Clinicians control Assessment Notifications), it's highly recommend that you ask your Clients to setup their Check-in Notification schedule in the Blueprint app.

    πŸ“š Resources:

    πŸ’‘ Bonus Tips:

    - Clients should set Check-in Notifications for a time of day they will easily be able to complete Check-ins and that is the most relevant to their care -- like completing a journal entry at the end of day, for example.

5. Discharge Clients who aren't actively in your care πŸ’€

It's best practice to discharge Clients when they're not actively in your care. If they do come back, you can quickly unarchive them -- all of their data will still be there for you!
